The VLAMO Composition Contest alternates between new works for wind band and fanfare band. By alternating these disciplines every year, we want encourage and inspire composers even more to create a piece of music tailored to the intended orchestral form and its instrumentation. In other words, quality over quantity.
2025: fanfare band
This year, we are looking for new fanfare band repertoire for lower divisions. Composers from all over the world are invited to compete in this contest. The prize-winning compositions receive 2000 euro.
